Scuderia Alpha Tauri is the new F1 team.

Formula one enthusiasts have waited three months to see the alterations to Scuderia Toro Rosso, which followed after it was announced that this F1 outfit would receive a branding change for the 2020 season. Toro Rosso is now named Scuderia AlphaTauri, which came with an entire livery change for both the car and drivers suits. Individuals that have supported F1 for a prolonged period will remember that Scuderia Toro Rosso debuted in 2006, which came after the Red Bull Company purchased the Minardi team. Those unfamiliar with the AlphaTauri branding shouldn’t be surprised; it’s a new premium clothing brand under Red Bull’s subsidiaries. The Red Bull Company hopes that the branding change will help AlphaTauri rival formidable clothing brands like Louis Vuitton and Gucci.

Team representatives for Scuderia Toro Rosso confirmed that they’d continue employing their previous lineup of drivers, which included Pierre Gasly and Daniil Kvyat. It was also noted that after the branding change, Scuderia AlphaTauri would continue to focus on young drivers from various academies. F1 Analysts believe the branding change came at the perfect moment, with Toro Rosso acquiring two podiums for the 1st time in thirteen years. Under this brand chance, the AlphaTauri name could become infamous in Formula One history. This will require multiple improvements from the engineering staff, team managers, pit crew and both drivers.

The New Livery

One of the most noticeable changes with the rebranding of Toro Rosso to AlphaTauri is the livery, which was unveiled earlier last week before Barcelona testing. The colour schemes selected for the new livery represent the logo of AlphaTauri, further cementing their position into the F1 grid. The launch event for the new AT01 was held in Salzburg, Austria at the Hangar-Seven Facility. Owned by Red Bull, both drivers helped the team managers unveil the new vehicle.

The colour scheme selected included dark blue and white matte, with the aerodynamics of the AT01 resembling Toro Rosso’s previous car from 2019. This leads sporting analysts to believe that AlphaTauri will start their maiden season in the lower grid, with their potential placement falling lower than Williams. The former championship team expressed that their new vehicle has significant improvements from last year, meaning Williams could compete with Reno or Hass, instead of AlphaTauri.
